Four Decades on Scotland's Rooftops
Eastfield Roofing Services Ltd is a family-run roofing contractor based in Glasgow, working across the whole of Scotland. We’ve been at this for more than forty years, and in that time we’ve handled everything from a single slipped slate on a Southside tenement to full re-roofs on listed buildings, new-build developments and commercial premises.
Being family-run isn’t a marketing line for us — it’s the reason the work is what it is. The team that quotes your job is the team that carries it out. We train our own people, we’re accountable to our own name, and the majority of our work still arrives through recommendation from customers, neighbours and the architects who specify us project after project.

Roofing in Glasgow: Your Questions Answered
Still not sure? Call us on 0141 588 7404 and we’ll answer it straight.
How much does a new roof cost in Glasgow?
It depends on the roof’s size and pitch, the material, the condition of the timbers underneath and the access required. Slate re-roofs typically cost more than tiled equivalents because of material and labour intensity. The only reliable figure comes from an actual survey — which is why ours are free and carry no obligation.
How long does a roof last?
A well-installed natural slate roof can last 100 years or more. Concrete and clay tiles generally give 40–60 years. Traditional copper and zinc roofs frequently exceed a century. Lifespan depends heavily on installation quality and on keeping flashings and roofline in good order.
Do I need a full re-roof or just a repair?
If failures are isolated — a few slipped slates, a cracked ridge, a leaking flashing — repair is usually the sensible option. If the roof is shedding material repeatedly, the nails have corroded through (“nail sickness”), or the underlay has perished, repeated repairs become false economy. We’ll give you an honest assessment either way.
Are you insured?
Yes. ERBS carries full public liability insurance, and all work is carried out by trained, directly employed teams.
Do you handle storm damage and insurance claims?
We do. We’ll inspect the damage, make the roof safe, document what we find and provide the written detail your insurer needs.
How quickly can you attend an emergency leak?
Call as early in the day as you can. Where a leak is active and causing damage, we prioritise attendance to make the roof watertight before scheduling a permanent repair.
Do you work on listed and conservation-area buildings?
Regularly. We have extensive experience on period and listed properties, including specialist leadwork and traditional metal roofing, and we work directly to architects’ and conservation officers’ specifications.
Will scaffolding be needed, and is it included?
Most re-roofs and many repairs require proper scaffold access — it’s a health and safety requirement, not an upsell. Where it’s needed, it’s itemised clearly in your written quotation.
How long will my roof take?
A typical domestic re-roof takes one to two weeks depending on size, weather and access. Repairs are usually same-day. We’ll give you a realistic window at survey stage rather than an optimistic one.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes — every estimate is free, written, and carries no obligation.
